Bellybutton

My umbilical stump finally fell off on the 16th, leaving my beautiful bellybutton for all to see! It came off at great grandma Vera's and great grandpa Mark's house. They were the first to see my bellybutton in all it's glory! Here is a pic of it and one with "The Vera" holding me.

2 week checkup

At my first doctor visit at 2 weeks old, we found out that I have already gained over a pound! I am now 8lbs 9 oz. eating is my favorite pastime, since there is not much else I can do. That and pooping, which is pretty fun too! The doctor said she thinks I am going to be tall like dad, woo hoo!

My birthday

Here are some more pics of me. One when I was first born and they were poking and prodding me! They were worried about my breathing at first and almost took me to the NICU but I am a fighter!

And another where they are showing me to my mom for the first time. I only got to see her for about 30 seconds and then they wisked me away to the nursery and her to recovery. I did not see her again for about 4 hours, I really missed her but dad was with me the whole time.

My favorite is the one with dad and me sleeping at the hospital, we did not even know that mom took this picture! She is sneaky sometimes.


So here is my story....My mom was supposed to go in the night of Tues the 28th to get induced because I did not want to come out. But she acatually started to have contractions on her own around 8:30pm on that same night. So we all went to the hospital at midnight when they had a bed open (finally) and they gave her some medication to help the contractions get stronger. She was in a lot of pain by 6:30 am on Wed the 1st so they gave her something called an epidural which made her feel really good! But I did not like it so much and it made my heartrate keep slowing down and mom's BP kept dropping also. This kind of scared me so I decided not to let my head "engage". Mom kind of got stuck at 4 cm and then she got a fever of 101.4 and Dr. Melnik did not like that at all. So with all of these factors they decided to take me out of my mom's tummy at 1:31pm on March 1st! That is okay with me because from what I hear it is a lot easier for me to come out that way. Although mom is pretty sore with her scar.

Hope to meet you all soon! Now you can call me Luke instead of Baby G, although Baby G still has a nice ring to it huh?

Thanks for being so patient with me. I'm glad to finally be here and healthy with my parents.

I was born March 1st, 2006 at 1:31pm.
I'm 21 1/2 inches long, 7 lbs. 9 oz, with a 12 inch chest and a 14 inch head. :)
